About Us
As the premier vet in Mohegan Lake, NY, we’re obsessed with animals — our own pets, our clients’ pets, our friends’ and families’ pets. We’re driven to make the pets of the Mohegan Lake community feel better, to keep them healthy, and give them long, happy lives.

MOHEGAN LAKE VETERINARY HISTORY
Mohegan Lake Veterinary Hospital has been providing first-rate veterinary care for over 30 years. It was established in 1987 by Dr. Jeffrey Stuppler, who quickly built a reputation for excellent medicine and compassionate care. Dr. Monica Belvedere took over the practice in 2018. Dr. Belvedere has significantly strengthened Mohegan Lake Veterinary Hospital's capabilities, installing a digital x-ray, new surgical monitors, and a new ultrasound machine. We also recently completed a renovation of our exam rooms, reception area, and in-house pharmacy. We'd love for you to come by and say hello!
OUR VETERINARIANS

DR. MONICA BELVEDERE
MEDICAL DIRECTOR
A skilled and compassionate veterinarian, Dr. Belvedere has been practicing for over 13 years. She grew up in Lake George and knew at age 4 she wanted to be a vet.
When not providing loving care for people's pets, Dr. Belvedere enjoys hiking with her husband and two children.
Dr. Belvedere received a B.S. from Cornell University and a DVM from Purdue University.
DR. CECILIA LAVIGNE
VETERINARIAN
Dr. Cecilia Lavigne knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was very young. She grew up on a small farm in Wallingford, CT where she cared for her goats, chickens, cats, dogs, and many other pocket pets.
Dr. Lavigne received a B.S. from the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) and her DVM from Iowa State University. Dr. Lavigne is excited to meet you and your fur babies!
Her interests outside of work include gardening, hiking, and horseback riding. On a rainy day, she can be found curled up with a good book or watching a movie with her two dogs and two cats.

DR. REBECCA LOWENSTEIN
VETERINARIAN
A Wappingers Falls native, Dr. Lowenstein is proud to be caring for pets in the community she calls home. She earned her veterinary degree from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at SUNY Oneonta. She has a strong foundation in preventative medicine, internal medicine, and general surgery. Dr. Lowenstein loves general practice because she is especially passionate about forming lasting relationships with pet parents and partnering with them to ensure their pets live long, healthy lives. Her commitment to high-quality care and strong communication skills help pet parents feel confident and supported in making the best choices for their pets and families.
Outside of work, you’ll find Dr. Lowenstein embracing the outdoors, or unwinding with a good book, a creative art project, or her latest DIY endeavor. She shares her home with a spirited cat named Ripley, who is convinced he is part dog.
